I JUST HATEEEE TO IRON AND I VE BECOME A PRO @ IT. i WORK FAR AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE AND I HAVE NO CHOICE OF DOING IT MY SELF, AS A MATTER OF FACT I VE DONE IT SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER AND STILL HATE IT. A FRIEND OF MINE HAD A PANASONIC IRON AND I BORROWED IT AND I ENDED LOVING IT (IT WAS NOT THIS MODEL, IT WAS A CHEAPER ONE) AND I DECIDED TO BUT ONE FOR ME. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW SOME PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT IT DOES NOT WORK.... IF YOU READ THE MANUAL WHICH I DID NOT HAVE TO DO U WILL REALIZE THAT U LL NEED TO SET IT ON # 3 IN ORDER TO MAKE IT WORK PROPERLY, ITIS SIMPLY AMAZING AND IT S WORTH EVERY SINGLE $ AND YES I AM A GUY WHO HATED , IWLL REPEAT I HATED TO IRON, IT USED TO TAKE ME @ LEAST 20 TO 30 MINUTES TO IRON A SHIRT AND PANTS, NOW IT JUST TKES HALF OF THE TIME TO DO IT.
I M SORRY FOR THE LENGHT OF THIS REVIEW BUT I HAD TO TELL MY EXPERIENCE SIMPLY BECAUSE I WAS ALMOST TURNED AWAY BY SOME REVIEWS I READ BEFORE BUYING IT.

Great Iron. Love the convenience of loosing the cord. Iron stays hot and produces great steam. Took a while to get in the habit of setting it back on the deck instead of sitting it on it's end as with a corded, but no big deal. Didn't realize when purchased that the iron itself had no battery and didn't actually produce the heat. I was a little concerned about this when I first realized this but it actually works very well like this and I don't have to worry about replacing rechargeable battery packs. My only complaint is that the automatic shutoff never completely shuts off. It goes to a standby mode which still produces heat and I still have the nagging worry of -did I unplug the iron?? that I was looking forward to eliminating with an automatic shut off model. Oh well, overall it is still a great iron.Customer Review: Luvs It!!!

The first of your two questions are inevitable "it is it heavy enough" Beware - if you want a heavy heavy iron this ain't it - but I got over that quickly - and "how much steam"....all very good, honestly....even speed-pressing-dirty-teenager-denim-jeans-in-the-morning-when-everyone-is-about-to-be-late - they press great. I love this iron - it makes great steam [unless you work as a washer woman who has to press all day] the steam does not run out - it readys very fast and stays hot - you can take it apart and fill it up with water straight from the faucet and not have water run all over the iron like regular models - there's no annoying wire "BEST PART!" plus bonus - its so unusual that it impresses everyone that comes to your house and has never seen one - you can have fun bragging and explaining it.Customer Review: Happy Cutomer

I love my new Panasonic cordless iron. I do a lot of sewing. I would say I probably sew 4-5 days a week. We have 10 grandkids and I make a lot of things for them. I also sew for friends now and then. Plus I belong to an outreach group at my church and sew a lot for that group. I love my cordless iron. I am not fighting a cord all the time. I also love the steam feature because the tank holds a lot of water and does not run out every few hours. A well-designed tool is a joy.
The absence of a cord makes all the difference. The iron stays hot long enough and reheats within a couple seconds each time you set it down (NO waiting). The cradle receives the iron quickly and easily. The base stays put on the ironing board and is stable, the retractable cord for the base is stored out of the way in the base. The cover for the whole thing makes it tidy and the handle makes it easy to transport.
It was puzzling why stores in my (large metropolitan)area didn't stock it, since it is so superior. At least it came quickly when I ordered it online.
