I always read Amazon reviews before any major purchase, and have found I can totally rely on them. I can even figure out why the negative reviews are negative, e.g., what the reviewer may have done wrong.
This iron exceeds my expectations when I started shopping, and meets the standards set by other reviewers. No cord! Good and hot! Cord retracts! Sole plate flies across my cottons!
It is my favorite toy, outside of the kitchen. I might buy another one in case this one breaks down after the next 20 years...

I ordered this product for my wife. She really likes the fact that she doesn't have to deal with the cord while ironing. Even though the iron doesn't hold heat for a terribly long time, it is back up to temperature by the time the garment is in position to finish up. The retractable cord for the base is very handy. She has used it for about six months, and so far it has performed flawlessly.

This iron is fantastic and stays hot for a long time while it is off the base. I bought it because I am an avid quilter and needed something cordless and that travels well. It is a little heavier than I expected but I think that lends to its durability. I used to use a travel iron that was a waste of time.My only complaint is that the cord says it is retractable and I think that just means you have to push it back inside the unit and that is not as easy as I hoped. Other than that I give it an A++ and I hate to iron!!

Wow I'm impressed. I just finished ironing 15 polo shirts and I have to say my new Panasonic cordless iron worked just as good as a cord iron. I put the iron on the charger when I adjusted the shirts and I also tried a shirt without putting it on the charger and it stayed hot the whole time. I only had to fill the water tank twice. I also like the retractable cord on the charger. It seems like Panasonic thought of everything with this fantastic iron. Also great for left handed people. Good job Panasonic.Customer Review: Wow. I read most of the reviews on this iron and some of people commented on it does not stay hot long enough and it does not get the shirts crisp enough. I have not found that at all. I iron all my husbands collard shirts and it does a fantastic job. I can not tell you how freeing it is not to have the cord getting in the way. the base is super easy to use. The iron just sets in perfectly every time. I only paid 43.00 and that included shipping and i love it mush more then my 100.00 iron. Well worth it.
