I've alwasys wanted a cordless iron. So, when I finally decided to purchase one a couple of months ago, I compared the features of many different ones. The Panasonic seemed to be the best, and I have been thrilled with it. Just set it on the base plate when you would normally set it up at the end of the ironing board to turn your clothes. When you are ready to pick it up again, it will be hot enough to continue ironing. I've used it for about 5-6 ironing sessions now (4-5 pieces of clothing each time), and only a couple of times have I had to wait 2-3 seconds for the iron to get back to its full charge -- only happens on the highest heat settings. To me, this is a very small price to pay for not having to fight with the cord, which always seemed to drag across my clothes wrinkling up what I had just ironed! I bought this iron because I am making my daughter's wedding dress. I needed an iron that wouldn't drip on the expensive fabric, gave me maximum room for all that fabric on the ironing board, had finely controlled temperature, heated evenly, and was neither too heavy or too light. I also hoped that an iron with all those capabilities would also turn itself off after a period of non-use. (I have a bad habit of forgetting to turn off my iron after a long session of sewing.) What a list!
After reading lots of reviews I chose the Panasonic NI-L45NR cordless iron and hoped it would live up to those reviews. I can honestly report that it does. It meets all my requirements, and I'm sure that when I'm finished with the wedding dress, I will discover more of its capabilities as I use it on a wider variety of fabrics.

I agree with pretty much everything that Martin says and he gives a good summary of the features of the iron so I won't repeat them. Suffice to say that this iron can claim sole responsibility for the fact that my shirts are now being ironed again. (Don't ask what I was doing before. Please.) The point is that it works - it easily stays hot long enough for almost all items of clothes and you will, like me, probably be surprised at how much easier ironing becomes just by virtue of the fact that you don't have that blasted cord limiting your movements.
I tried to think of a reason to take a star off but I can't. In addition to being a great product, and reasonably priced, it arrived within about 2 hours of having ordered it, which was FANTASTIC. I can recommend it without the slightest hesitation.

I own and have used this iron 5 days a week for about the last 3 years.. everytime i pick it up i feel like i just got a new toy. I love it! It's perfect for a small apartment and doing a shirt and trousers every morning - by that I mean its the BEST iron I could imagine for that and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've had the big expensive Irons.. two broke.. all were bulky and got too hot.. and rediculous.
This one is light convenient and foolproof.
If had had to iron a lot of clothes at once, this would not be the right iron to use.. but its the right tool for the job of one outfit or so.. and daily use. I logged in beacuse I was thinking about ordering a second, just in case this one ever expires and the model id discontinued.. i like it that much.

This has to be the best iron on the market so far, amazon has one of the best price online you can find. The iron works great it heats up very fast and stay hot for a very long time, been using it for over a month now and i am very happy with this iron. The cordless is the only way to go...there is no more having to shift yourself around the ironing board to get pass a cord to press your garments, i love that is has a auto shut off if you don't use it after ten minutes and to refill the water is a easy as 1, 2, 3...no more having to take to whole iron and pour water into it you just take apart the part with the water with just one click and fill it while the iron is being reheated. I highly suggest this product you will love it and not want to buy anything else!!!!!
