Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless-Steel SoleplateCustomer Review: Wife's favorite even over cachet brands Summary: 5 Stars
My wife had a model NI-R72NR that went out on her. She wanted the same model but it was no longer available so I ordered the NI-C78SR. In the meantime, she had tried several other brands but did not like any. The NI-C78SR was almost exactly what she had. The only downside for my wife was that it was a little heavier but the steam performance, sole plate slickness and maneuverability is superb, beating out Tefal and Rowenta among others. She is very pleased.
Customer Review: An Iron Done Right Summary: 5 Stars
Every feature of this well-designed iron pleases. It heats quickly, blasts out a strong jet of steam, was comfortable to use, and the retractable cord is handy for not having too much cord getting in the way of one's ironing. The removable water reservoir allows cleaning outside of the iron. The procedure for cleaning the iron itself is a bit strange, but eminently functional, which is what you expect from Panasonic. Took us three tries to get a good iron.
Customer Review: Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron w/Stainless Steel Soleplate Summary: 5 Stars
I do really like this iron and would purchase again. However, you need to know there are some specific rules to follow when turning this iron on and off or preparing it for steam (preheat for 2 minutes). In my opinion, the iron is on the heavy side, so those with hand, wrist, arm or shoulder problems may want to think twice about this one. But if you are looking for a heavy duty iron for clothing, uniforms, etc., then I think this one is perfect!
Customer Review: This iron floats across clothing! Summary: 5 Stars
Maybe it's because my old iron kept getting black gunk stuck on it and was hard to slide, but the first time I used this iron it slid so effortlessly over cloths that it felt like it was almost floating! I had 6 irons in my life and never had one that glided so well. A retractable cord is a must for me. I bought a hair dryer with a retractable cord and it seems to be more of a pain the butt than anything, but definiately great to have on an iron.
Customer Review: Does what it should Summary: 5 Stars
The retractable cord is a must-have feature for me. The removable water tank is great as well. This is the first Stainless-Steel iron I've owned. So far I've found it to be a superior material compared to, um, whatever material they used 10 years ago. Glides very easily, warms up fast.
Only complaint so far is the retractable cord sometimes takes a few extra seconds of forcing to get it wound completely. But that's pretty minor.
