Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless-Steel SoleplateCustomer Review: Excellent iron Summary: 5 Stars
I really like this iron. It does what I want it to do, heat up and take the wrinkles out of my clothes. Its low setting is perfect for rayon while a higher setting is just right for cottons, and it produces the right amount of steam when I want steam. Its heavy enough for good results without being too heavy for comfort.
I especially like the removable water container, which means I can add water for steam without making a mess. I also like that the water level is easy to read. The dial is a bit of a tight fit under the handle, but not a real problem for my small hands. If you care about aesthetics as well as function, it's also an attractive iron. The splash of bright color is a nice touch.
It has my recommendation.
Customer Review: iron review Summary: 5 Stars
I like this iron very much. The detachable water container is the best. It's always so awkward to take the entire iron to the sink or pour water into the iron. With the detachable storage tank, which is lightweight - as the entire iron is - filling the iron with water is easy and convenient. The performance of the iron, so far, is excellent. The settings are easy to read, the steam and spray settings work well, and the iron glides over the clothes and get the wrinkles out without having to go over them again and again. And last, but not least, the retractable cord is a feature all irons should have. It makes the iron easy to put away without having to wrap up the cord or have it dangling all over the closet. This iron was a very good buy.
Customer Review: I definitely recommend this iron Summary: 5 Stars
I received this iron about one month ago and it has been wonderful. I wasn't sure if it was going to work well when I was comparing the prices. Usually when you buy an economical iron it doesn't seem to work. I usually end up buying a Rowenta and they are a bit pricey. This iron offers a retractable cord which actually works! I have had a couple of irons with retractable cords and I had to guide the cord plus push the button about twenty times before I could get it completely retracted. It is also heavy enough to actually iron the wrinkles and steam. I don't usually get excited about an iron, but I have to say that I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this item.
Customer Review: A winner from Panasonic Summary: 5 Stars
The Panasonic NI-C78SR is a marvelous steam/dry iron. It performs the basic functions flawlessly -- excellent temperature control, abundant steam, shot of water, vertical steam, etc. The additional aspects of this iron make it a standout: long cord which is housed neatly in cord reel; removable water tank which makes filling really convenient; stainless steel soleplate which is much smoother than so-called non-stick plates; it is reasonably light. I bought my daughter an earlier version of this iron two years ago and it still works as if it were new. My wife and I bought a T-Fal (more expensive) iron for ourselves three years ago, and it fell apart, which prompted the purchase of the NI-C78SR.
Customer Review: Wow, this thing is great. Summary: 5 Stars
Official disclaimer: before buying this, we had a Wal-Mart store purchased black & decker iron. It didn't make it past 1 year, and I didn't think it was worth the thrash to send it back for the $15 I spent on it.
My wife charged me with finding her an iron, and after several of the reviews on this site, I"M GLAD I DID. This thing does everything and does it well - pants that were taking 5 minutes + were now taking 30 seconds to 1 minute. It's easy to use, ergonomically friendly, and it does what it's supposed to do.
This is one of our most successful Amazon purchases - so if you're in a similar situation that I was in, don't hesitate to get this!
