Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate

Customer Review: Great little iron...
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this iron. I had planned to get another Black and Decker iron, like I'd had before. But after reading the reviews of them I decided to look at other brand reviews. I found this Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron w/Stainless Steel Soleplate and read the reviews. It's really a neat little iron. Not too expensive, not too heavy and it works quite well. Some didn't like the removable water container. I like it just fine... it's easy to remove, holds plenty of water... more than my old steam irons... and it's easy to empty. I read all the directions re. getting all the water out of the iron by emptying it after each use, as well as pushing the steam button to remove excess moisture still in the iron. I've had it about 2 months and I'm very pleased with it. It's well made, as long as you don't abuse it in a rough manner, and the retractable cord is a nice plus. Just read the easy directions before you use it, follow them, and you'll have a good iron that should last a long time.

Customer Review: Super iron for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been sure that my next iron would be a Rowenta, based on all the buzz and ads I'd seen. But when I read the buyer's reviews, I was shocked at all the reports of leaking and dissatisfaction. Again, based on the reviews, I ordered the Panasonic. It's been great! Large water reservoir which is easy to fill either on the iron or off. Plenty of steam, heats up quickly, and the retractable cord makes sure the dog won't pull the iron over. (Although the cord takes several pumps of the retracting button). I thought I'd hate the auto-off feature, since I quilt and I'm continually switching between the iron and the sewing machine, but just one instance of forgetting to turn the iron off when I went to bed made me really appreciate the feature. Yes, I have to wait a couple of minutes for the iron to heat up if I've spent too long on the sewing machine, but the safety aspect is well worth the wait.

I had my last iron for 20 years, and I hope this one does half as well!

Customer Review: Iron away with this...
Summary: 5 Stars

Was in market after going through couple of Rowentas & B&D's over last couple of years.

After going through reviews of competing brands, decided to give this a try. As usual Amazon's price is hard to beat.

I like the retractable cord, heat & steam settings are similar to any other brand, heats up quickly, May be it just me but it feels like you need to put in more pressure to get wrinkles out.

I like the fact that it cools down quickly , so I dont have to wait too long to put it back in the closet.

Not too crazy about removable water tank, Also I liked "self-cleaning" option in Rownta than in this Panasonic.Or may be this one does not catch that much dirt :-)

Overall a nice everyday use iron at a very competitive price for a a good brand name product.

Customer Review: Value for money - Great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this after suffering with my old iron which was from Sunbeam. This iron was impressive from the word go. I loved the stainless steel soleplate. It glides on the clothes like a piece of cake.

I other things i love about this :

a) The detachable thingy to fill water. It becomes so much easier, unlike other irons where you either fill water with a glass or you take the entire iron to the tap to fill water. I thought it was a great idea to have that feature
b) The retractable chord which doesn't leave the chord hanging around here and there.
c) The steam thing works very well and has couple of settings.

Overall I think its a great iron to buy. I never knew Panasonic makes irons and that too good ones :)

Customer Review: Well-thought out design for an excellent price!
Summary: 5 Stars

You wouldn't think you could buy such a clever, useful and efficient item for such a small price. This iron is compact, lightweight, glides smoothly over fabrics of all types, has more than sufficient settings and as yet, has never failed to retract the cord (auto-wind-up cords are notorious for not working consistently, but after just over a month, the cord still retracts perfectly on the first try). The deal clincher on this iron is the REMOVABLE water compartment, which can simply be carried to the faucet and filled up, before being placed back on the iron. When the price is taken into account, it's no wonder this iron is so highly rated on consumer websites. The perfect choice for an easy, efficient and, dare I say it, 'fun' ironing experience!
