With its four-position telescopic handle, the vacuum is flexible for variation in user height, task, and storage capacity. It is also amply equipped for above-floor cleaning with onboard attachments and two hoses. You can use a single hose for short-range jobs or both hoses at once for 22 total feet of cleaning reach. Attachments include two extension wands, a crevice tool, and a combo brush with removable bristles. Other welcome details include a carrying handle, furniture guard, headlight, cord retainer hook, and quick-release cord hooks. For safety, a thermal protector cuts power to prevent overheating, and a motor protector vent automatically opens if a clog occurs. Customer Review: This vacuum is a must have for any pet owner!

The switch from carpet to bare floor was simple and made the task of tracked litter a breeze to vacuum off the linolium floor. The only problem I had was that I should have switched the machine to bare floor when vacuuming a bath mat in our bathroom (it's so powerful it almost ate the rug), but no harm done I'll just switch it next time.

I'd have to say that it's a bit heavier than I had hoped, but it is amazingly easy to push (by far better than my dirt devil and easier to push than the lightweight bissel bagless my grandmother recently purchased). It is considerably lighter than my other vacuum. My back used to get stiff after vacuuming, but not anymore, it's easy to push, pull and turn. In fact it's easier to turn than my "swivel guide" dirt devil.

The cannister is easy to empty and has a dial inside the cannister to loosen small particles from the filter (instead of clinging to it)

Another nice feature is that there are no screws to remove should you need to change the belt or the hepa filter, you simply have to slip the plastic sheilds off to change them.

The on-board attachments aren't anything fancy (your typical stuff found with most vacuums), with the exception of the extra hose for extended reach. I'm sure the hose will come in handy when vacuuming stairs since the reach is extended by about 10 feet.

Another bonus, the front end of the vacuum is low to the ground which makes it easy to vacuum under furniture, in fact it was able to get under some of the baseboards in my house where the pile was lower (in rooms with berber). The dirt finder light was glowing like crazy under there, at least I know it's clean now!
It also seems to pull dirt from an inch or so beyond the front of the unit, in other words, when vacuuming bare floors it can suck up dirt in tight corners that you typically would have to sweep.

I also like that the handle can be adjusted to the user's height there are three height adjustments the lowest would be good for kids or really short people (I'm 5'2") I prefer the middle & I'm sure my husband will use the highest setting. The handle is also ergonomically designed and quite comfortable in the hand.

I would definately recommend this vacuum to anyone, especially if you have pets, this vacuum sucked up cat hair that I couldn't even see. This vacuum is well designed, and worth every penny (which is less than many machines with low ratings). I'm so glad I didn't buy that Hoover I was thinking about two weeks ago.

UPDATE: After one week of use, this vacuum has brought a new life to my carpets, the panasonic seems to have lifted the pile higher (in areas of high traffic) leaving a much plusher feel. It feels like walking on new carpet again. Additionally, I have also noticed that when dusting furniture, there is much less to clean. I guess the HEPA filter is doing a great job as well.
