When I first got this my cleaning lady refused to use it. Since then I'm cleaning the house myself. I have mostly wood floors-- the first time I used it I realized it wasn't picking up at all-- then I noticed that the roller was not spinning because I had something caught in it. After I cleaned it out, and adjusted the controls, the suction was much better. I love that it gets all the way under the bed and the couch and the long retractible cord is a very nice feature.Customer Review: Cord Too Short

I'd like to add my vote to all of the positive reviews and features; this is a lightweight, powerful and *inexpensive* unit that has replaced my $400 Kenmore (mainly because of the weight). Also I think it's fairly quiet, at least relatively speaking. Panasonic wins again!
On the other hand the cord length is a disappointment. I guess 17' is less than I'm used to. I have to change outlets quite a bit. Please consider that before you buy!

vacuum works well on carpet and bare floors. One problem is you have to change the setting each time you sweep from floor to carpeting. Has a revolving brush which picks up pet hair well but needs to be removed by hand to keep head clean.Had a hard time getting dust bags. I had to order them from the Panasonic company. I am still waiting for the bags to arrive. Seems to have good suction.Customer Review: Decent vacuum cleaner but needs to change the bag.

I purchased this vacuum cleaner a few years ago and I think it is a decent vacuum cleaner for the price. However, the indicator for the bag is not accurate. If you find the suction doesn't work,it is time to change the bag in the vacuum cleaner. When the bag is filled with the dust, it doesn't suck at all and the brush doesn't even roll.Customer Review: Good product

This vacuum as simple as it is, has a very strong vacuum performance, and although the 3-in-1 brush does not have a powered rotating brush, it works fine.
It is not that light, as I would have preferred, but it is still lighter than some of the canister models out there.
For the price, this is a good buy.
