Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic MC-CG467 Multi-Surface Lightweight Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Light BlueCustomer Review: So far, very good Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this Panasonic because we had an older version of the same size and price point and it lasted for 12-14 years. The new vacum we received from Amazon had a missing suction control so after calling Panasonic and getting transferred to hell and back FINALLY they were "very sorry" and helpful and sent us an entirely new vacum hose with no need to return the old one...very nice. The suction is great, the brushes on the main attachement turn by air suction and not on their own, but with enough force to help clean up threads and lose items on the carpet. The 360 hose turning feature is good as is the retractable cord (although a bit short). The real wheels are great for rolling over area rugs and thresholds but the front wheel is so small it often gets caught and does not allow the vacum to "follow" you easily. The design is sweet and compact and takes up very little room. The basic attachement is a little heavy...also with tiny wheels that do not roll and allow much manueverability... AND is a little difficult to detach (though this may loosen with use). The two small attachements fit neatly in the rear of the vacum which makes for easy access. ALL IN ALL for the price it seems a great bargin so far. We have only had this one for a month and so far, very good. If it lives up to its older brother/sister machine it will be a real winner.
Customer Review: Great for Wood Floors Summary: 5 Stars
I have a heavy Kirby vacuum that I used for the carpets that also had an attachment for wood floors. Pulling the upright along while cleaning the wood floors was the pits. It kept falling over and wouldn't round the corners. The wand had to be cleaned every minute. I got this Panasonic vacuum strictly for the wood floors. I love it! It is small and lightweight, but has good suction. I can zoom around everything with ease. The floor attachment has a spinning brush powered by the vacuum suction. It sweeps the wood floor clean while sucking up the dirt. It works great! It is not a vacuum for carpets. On carpets, it would only act as a carpet sweeper. So, if you have a good upright for carpets and need something for the wood floors, or your tile kitchen and bathroom floors, give this one a try. The cord is short, but retracts into the machine. That is the only downside of this vac.
Customer Review: Pretty happy with this versatile canister vac Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first canister vac and I've been pretty happy with it. It was bought to replace a Dirt Devil upright that died after a year of occasional use. I wanted something lightweight, and this is only 10 pounds total so it's pretty easy to drag around and carry up the stairs. We have both parquet and rugs, and this vac works equally well on the different types of surfaces, although coming from using only uprights in the past, it took me a while to get used to the "feel". The suction power can be adjusted, which is good because at the max it's sometimes impossible to lift the nozzle off a rug! I have kids so the HEPA filter on this model is a big plus. I don't mind buying the bags; I will never use another bagless model because they all leak and smell after first use. I now use this vac almost every day and keep our duplex apartment relatively clean for the kids to play in. :)
Customer Review: Just Perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
After replacing carpeting with wood flooring, I was on the lookout for a good, light weight canister. My upright did not work on the wood floors and the hose attachment created back-breaking work. Sweeping & swiffering still left dust behind. After many months of searching I found this Panasonic. My upright Panasonic has been a rugged, dependable machine, so I knew the brand would be a sound buy. This vacuum is just perfect for wood/laminate/tile floors. In addition it does great on area rugs (low pile) and it's a dream on stairs (carpeted). Light weight, easy to manuever, with very good suction. Powerhead adjusts to wood/carpet and the rotating brush makes sure all dirt disappears. Very pleased with this vacuum.
Customer Review: Light and compact but powerful. Summary: 5 Stars
This little vacuum is light and maneuverable. It makes vacuuming a two-story home including stairs a comparatively easy job, and I'm a senior citizen. This vacuum may have been designed for a smaller space than ours as the cord doesn't quite reach as far as I would like and it has a tendency to warm up, but I would prefer to vacuum the whole house without stopping to move the plug to another outlet. Although someone mentioned that it is too loud, I don't think it is bad. Having tried quieter vacuums, the price tag is way more than what I would be willing to pay for something a bit quieter. I'm very happy with my purchase, with it's power and ease of changing from hard surface to carpet mode, and it is a joy to use.
