Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic EY6105YQW 12 Volt Drill/DriverCustomer Review: Great drill for the money Summary: 5 Stars
Pros:
-VERY compact. Smallest 12V I have ever seen.
-Fits good in my mid sized hand
-Lots of torque. I was able to drill 3.5 inch screws into two 2x4's with ease on low and worked the drill a little harder doing it on high. I drilled some shorter screws into oak and ply with no resistance as well
-Nice variable speed trigger. Works smooth like a higher priced drill would and actually better then my 18v DeWalt which is very touchy.
-Clutch setting seem effective. On the highest setting, I drove the 3.5 inch screws about 1/8 deep into the 2x4's. With it cranked into the Clutch lock position it easily buried the screw.
-High quality small case. I hate those small tools they put in huge cases. If you keep your tools in cases, this is a nice one.
Cons:
-No spare bit holder. Very odd.
-no rubberized grip like the more expensive drills usually have.
-Cheaper plastic feel then what you may find on DeWalt, Makita and similar.
I use a 18V DeWalt and Makita on my job so I know a few things about drills. This drill is not a replacement for a high power drill. I tested drilling 3.5 inch screws, but in reality it is not designed for that and the battery would likely run down fast if driving a lot of those types of screws. A while back I had bought a 9.6 Volt PC drill for around the shop. I hated it. Poor power, short battery life, very big and cheap feeling. This Panasonic is what I had hoped that PC would be. Powerful, small, and of decent quality.
