Description of Pananasonic NI760R Steam/Dry Iron with Spray
This steam/dry iron from Panasonic doesn't look like grandmother's model--and it doesn't function like it either. Efficient, versatile, and easy to use, this iron features six temperature settings for a wide range of fabrics. Though it works well dry, you also have the options of spraying water, jet-steaming, or vertical steaming for hanging clothes and draperies. Panasonic's nonstick soleplate features a smooth, scratch-resistant surface and easy glide. A single row of dimples reduces drag, and a button groove lifts buttons away from the hottest part of the iron. Detach the iron's transparent water reservoir for simple filling or set it aside to make ironing inside sleeves and pockets easier. The iron automatically shuts off if left on its soleplate or side for one minute or on its heel for 10 minutes. A self-cleaning feature flushes out mineral residues from the steam chamber and vents, and a built-in anticalcium cassette reduces scale on an ongoing basis. (Permanent Press afficionados need not read this review).I purchased this iron a year ago and now will buy one for my Mom. It is lightweight and very capable of giving a good press. It will do linen and 100% cotton with relative ease. The removable plastic tank makes the whole ironing experience that much easier. If you are doing cotton and you use a lot of steam AND spray you can just pop it off and refill and be back in business in no time. Both the aforementioned steam and spray work very well and the retractable cord completes my enjoyment of this great labor saving device.
